Why are my open rates so low?

There may be many reasons you are experiencing low open rates. If in doubt, do some basic testing to see if any improvements can be made. You may want to test your subject line, is it relevant to the email? The image to text ratio, length or frequency of your email. Are the topics appropriate to your audience?

Have you asked them what they want to receive? Is your email coming from a real person or a generic email address? Have you ensured that they have agreed to receive your mailings in the first place? All of these things are contributing factors to your open rate.
