St Elizabeth Hospice

St Elizabeth Hospice

St Elizabeth Hospice is an independent charity in Suffolk which improves life for people living with a progressive illness. The Hospice has been using little green plane since 2010 to drive traffic to its site, enhance brand awareness, to increase the number of people engaging with its work and to facilitate the generation of vital funds to meet the majority of its £8.7million annual running costs.

Strategy

The St Elizabeth Hospice marketing team were seeking an email service provider to enhance its existing digital strategy. little green plane evaluated the requirements of the hospice and advised the marketing team on email marketing best practice. The main focus of the campaigns was to increase brand awareness of the charity, whilst providing a realistic snapshot into the day to day running of hospice and the variety of services the Hospice provides.

Fulfilment

little green plane designed a personalised template that adhered to the Hospice’s brand guidelines and mirrored the look and feel of its website, which was designed by little green plane’s parent company itineris. The template provided a regular touch point on which the Hospice could engage their diverse audience of staff, volunteers, healthcare professionals and donators.

Recently, St Elizabeth Hospice used little green plane to extensively promote its annual fundraising event The Midnight Walk, which raised around £150,000 for the charity. The Midnight Walk e-shots yielded open rates of between 50-60% - compared to an industry average of 20% - and click-through rates of 20-30%, compared to an industry average of just 4%.

The Hospice’s regular email marketing campaigns sent through little green plane, regularly receive open rates of up to 55%, and 49% for click-through rates, increasing the awareness of the Hospice’s work and increasing engagement with the Hospice.

Helen Causer, head of community engagement at St Elizabeth Hospice, said: “We sent an email to walkers and that day we received 236 visits to the website. Generally we were receiving just 70 per day. We then distributed a follow-up campaign and received another 352 visits. little green plane truly enhances our marketing campaigns. The system is really easy to use. Adding content to our template is simple, as is uploading email addresses. The reporting function is second-to-none and helps us cultivate warm leads that are essential for our fundraising efforts.”
