Why can't I use my email client for my email marketing?

We often get asked by our clients “Why can’t I use my email client for my email marketing?”. Here is a quick bit of advice on why we don’t think it is the best route when it comes to sending bulk email.

People who have used their email clients for email marketing will tell you how hard it is! Email clients are not built specifically for sending large numbers. Sending any reasonable volume through a desktop email system (such as Outlook) is fraught with problems. Often the recipient’s addresses will feature in the BCC field, this is a major alert to most spam filters which are then likely to block your emails. Continual usage of this approach can lead to you becoming Blacklisted. They also don’t include a lot of the features a marketing tool such as i.send offers, such as tracking, reporting and editing.

Email marketing is a fantastic tool for contacting clients, so don’t limit yourself by using a desktop email system to create a campaign - it’s about as much use as a chocolate teapot!
