Boosting Christmas sales with email marketing
I attend a lot of events and at most of them I get asked “Isn’t email marketing dead?”. I always answer in the same way, "no way". Email marketing remains the most effective and profitable way to turn prospects into customers.
Don’t take my word for it, the Direct Marketing Association says the ROI for email marketing is £43 for every £1 spent; that is a reurn of 4,300%. Even though email marketing might not be as fashionable as social media, it is still by far the best way to boost your sales and Christmas is the ideal time to get things moving.
Here are some ideas that you can use to help boost your Christmas sales:
1. Let people know what's hot – there is always a hot Christmas gift that people want each year, so let your customers know what it is and that you can supply it to them. If you don’t have a hot Christmas gift then just give them gift ideas. People want a helping hand at Christmas, so show that you are there to help.
2. Broadcast your specials and voucher codes – times are tough at the moment and sales now start before Christmas. If you have voucher codes try sending them out to customers that haven’t bought from you recently to remind them that you are still about and to encourage them to come back.
3. Send a digital Christmas card – sending people a digital Christmas card is simple and helps share the Christmas cheer. Using our charity cards you can even help your local charity raise funds and bring Christmas to those less fortunate.
4. Notify people of your opening hours over the festive period – a lot companies think Christmas email marketing is limited to B2C or ecommerce - but it is not. It can simply be about building customer relationships. If you are closing your offices over the festive period, let your customers know so that they can plan and not be caught out by your closure.
With only 38 days until Christmas now is the perfect time to get started.
